Furnishing the Kingsley Retirement Village Clubhouse

kingsley retirement village

Adjusting to a new style of living is more than just equipping oneself with the materials things that go with the lifestyle; it’s more about involving the self in the culture of the community. Just like Meath Care Inc.’s Vision-Mission, which is geared towards “empowering older people to achieve their preferred lifestyle,” everyone at Creative Flooring was dedicated to creating a safe and comfortable place for these dreams to come alive when we were given the opportunity to install at the Village Clubhouse in Kingsley. As a family business that operates with the objective of raising sustainable homes and communities, our work in Kingsley is definitely one for the books!

“At the heart of our organisation is a belief that all our residents have come to us from their families, friends and homes, seeking the care, comfort and security that is essential for their changing needs, and we pledge ourselves to making them feel ‘at home’ in all possible ways.” Just as Meath Care promises, so did Creative Flooring delivered! One of our latest projects in Perth is the Meath Care Inc. Retirement Village Clubhouse in Kingsley. Built to be a home and a community to the elderly, the retirement village in Kingsley hosts multi-functional spaces like the Clubhouse that Creative Flooring has been honoured to install.

The plan for the Clubhouse was to make it an entertaining but peaceful place for the elderly and their visitors to enjoy. To do this, soft and comfortable, anti-static carpets from the Nolan Group‘s Toli Mortarclay Carpet Tiles Collection, were laid out all over the flooring not only to cushion the feet of the elderly but to insulate the space aswell.  And since the Nolan Mortarclay Carpet Collection were specifically developed to compliment the ageing of concrete or any hard surfaces, this type of flooring was the perfect finish to this residential clubhouse.

Vinyl planks that features real reproductions of wood were then added to specific areas to add shape and define the space. From Polyflor Australia’s Superplank Vinyl Flooring Collection, wood-like panels not only completed the residential look but the impact-resistant and quiet underfoot features of the materials were a perfect match to the lifestyle of the elderly. To keep the flow of the floor look and feel as seamless as possible, the vinyl planks and the carpet floorings were cut in a particular style in their point of intersection. The contrast between the soft texture of the carpet and the compact feel of the vinyl also helped add character to the place especially since their respective areas serve different purposes.

At Creative Flooring WA, we undertake our installations with the intention to make a home and not just a house. Our work at the Meath Care Inc.’s Retirement Village Clubhouse in Kingsley, provided an opportunity to express our care for the elderly and our gratefulness to our community. By using wood-like vinyl flooring and insulated carpets, we were able to create a space of warmth and comfort for the elderly to enjoy. The harmony between the colours and the seamless transitions of the floor coverings allowed for harmony to exist in the living space.
